First day of Kindergarten!!

She started school this morning,
And she seemed so very small.
As I walked there beside her
In the Kindergarten hall.

And as she took her place beside
the others in the class,
I realized how all too soon
Those first few years can pass.

Remembering, I saw her as
She first learned how to walk.
The words that we alone made out
When she began to talk.

This little girl so much absorbed
In learning how to write.
It seems as though she must have grown
To girlhood overnight.

My eyes were blurred by hastily
I brushed the tears away
Lest by some word or sign of mine
I mar her first big day.

Oh how I longed to stay with her
And keep her by the hand
To lead her through the places
That she couldn’t understand.

And something closely kin to fear
Was mingled with my pride.
I knew she would no longer be
A baby by my side.

But she must have her chance to live,
To work her problems out,
The privilege to grow and learn
What life is all about.

And I must share my little girl
With friends and work and play;
She’s not a baby anymore –
She’s in Kindergarten today.

Kindergarten testing

Its still so hard for me to believe
that my baby is starting
KINDERGARTEN
on Monday.
We went today to meet Rylee's
Kindergarten teacher,
Mrs. Homer,
and see her classroom.
Rylee got to pick out her seat,
check out where to hand her coat and bag,
and put her name on a cubby.
It was so fun to watch her interact with her teacher.
Shes been looking forward to this day for a couple
years now. It always seemed SO far away to me until today!

I am in
l.o.v.e.

She's growing up way too fast!

She sure is beautiful!

Rylee's stepmom took the kids
to get some pic taken.
I thought they turned out
DARLING!
Above is Rylee with her
sister Gretchen

Can't get enough of this face

Pony Camp

Three cute cousins got to experience something
most kids dream about at night.
Rylee, Grace, and Jordan were lucky enough
to spend 4 fabulous days at pony camp together last week.
I came up with the idea of putting Rylee in
pony camp on our forever long drive to WA.
I decided to search online and found out that
there was a 4 day camp going on that matched the
dates we were visiting.
I decided to sign Rylee up and spread the word!

(My Grandma Walker used to bring me here when I was little)

Finally the day arrived to start camp.
Rylee was SO excited.
She could hardly contain herself all morning!

This is what a very excited girl looks like!

It was so fun to pick Rylee up each day
after camp and hear ALL about her experiences.
The girls played games on their ponies,
made a craft each day,
learned how to saddle their pony,
brushed their pony,
put their ponies to bed each afternoon,
had snack time,
and even got to finger paint a real pony!!
They absolutely loved every single second.
I have a feeling this is going to become a Summer
"must"

Rylee and Gilligan

Jordan and Rex

Grace and Pepper

To top off all the fun of spending time on a pony
they got to spend time in on this awesome farm!
I know the kids don't realize the beauty
but I sure did!

Beach Fun

Nothing better than spending a
day at the beach with family:)

American Girl Store Seattle

American Girl Store
opened in Seattle the middle of July.
Lucky for us we planned to visit Nana
the end of July!

What an exciting day!

Rylee had so much fun wandering around
the store! American Girl does such a great job
displaying their items. We could have spent all day looking around;)

Rylee picked out 3 darling outfits for her AG doll.
Her favorite was the wedding dress.
Shes been eying it in the catalog for awhile now.

Until next time:)
