Funny Story

For those of you who know Steve Walker,
you know he is a little fussy about
eating out and sticks to certain restaurants.
He has managed to eat lunch at Blimpie for the past 10 years
almost every day of the week.
They know him by name, when they see him pull in the
parking lot they start making his sandwich.
He is by far there BIGGEST customer.
(profit not size)

On Friday my cell phone rang and it was Steve (dad) calling.
He started the conversation with:

Dad: you will never guess where I am right now
Me: Where??
Dad: In the bathroom at Blimpie.
Me: COOL, why are you calling to tell me that?
Dad: I have been locked in here for 30 minutes.
I just called 911 though so I should be out soon.
I only came in to wash my hands.
Me: Why did you call 911 dad? Don't you think a simple
lock smith couldhave done the trick?
Dad: Tried. Can't.
Me: Well let me know the outcome. (Chuckle, laugh, smile, laugh again)

OUTCOME:

It took 55 minutes, 6 fireman, a locksmith, management,
a frantic wife,and a few customers.

5 minutes away from jaws of life.

So thankful my dad is still alive :)

Counting sheep

We have had some real issues around our house with going to bed lately.
Rylee "knows" it has to be dark outside before its bedtime.
She used to go to bed at 7:00 p.m. and not wake up till 8:00 or 8:30 a.m.

::My life was HEAVEN::

Rylee just came to me, grabbed my hand,
took me over to the window, lifted up the blinds, and
said "mom see its not dark out... it's not bedtime"

It's hard not to laugh at her.
She's SO smart.
She is constantly pushing my buttons these days.

I LOVE her like crazy anyways though.

She is soon to be 3.
I hope the terrible 2's leave her.

Baking with my Nana

Rylee and her Nana share the same LOVE when it comes to kitchens.
Rylee is obsessed with "helping" to cook, bake, wash dishes,
wipe down counters, put soap in the dishwasher...

Most of all, Rylee LOVES to
CRACK
eggs.

Our first night of our 8 day stay Nana decided to bake brownies.
:)
(a personal favorite of mine)
Surprisingly Rylee wanted to help.

Rylee cracked the eggs

After a long awaited arrival straight from the oven we
were able to feast upon these tasty squares of gold.

Courtney then says:
Mom, do brownies have eggs in them?
Mom says:
They sure do.
Well, I think I just ate one...

Note to self, and to Nana
That's what you get when you let a 2 year old
crack the eggs.

::EARINGS::

I decided to take Rylee to get her ears pierced a couple weeks ago.
I SWEAR to you she really wanted them.
I warned her it would hurt... BAD.
She didn't care.

This is after... she was a little upset with me

She is thrilled with how they look and feel now!

A FirSt...

Today we went to the park with our
*good friends*
Jessica, Aspen, and Irelynn.
This was Rylee's First time
flying a kite! She LOVED it
and actually did a pretty good job at
keeping her kite in the air.
It was a warm 62 degrees here today
but the wind was blowing...

HARD

Here is Rylee...

Here is Barbie...

Aspen and Rylee trying to get barbie to fly

Jessica and Irelynn

Barbie took one to many headers...
sadly we had to say our goodbyes
and leave her at the park

The best part about the experience today was
that Jessica realized about 20 minutes into flight
that we were the only ones still interested in flying.

The girls were over on the slide...

.....We felt a little dumb.....
